My Approach.

My goal as a counseling provider is to be warm, knowledgeable, and accepting.  I will do my best to make you feel comfortable during our time together.  I strive to be someone you want to come spend time with.

For counseling I incorporate a combination of evidenced based approaches.  Evidence based means that multiple research trials have proven these approaches to be most effective in resolving depression, anxiety, grief, chronic stress and other common issues.  These approaches include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Systems Theory, Positive Psychology, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), Recreational Therapy, Exposure Therapy, Art Therapy, Journaling, Bibliotherapy, and traditional talk therapy.   Don't worry, it won't feel like a college lecture!  I'm happy to explain any of these approaches to you in more detail either over the phone or during the course of our time together.

For adolescents who may be less comfortable with an hour of talking, I also incorporate art, music, self-discovery, creative activities, games, and whatever other interests they may bring.

For Life Coaching, I start where you are, and help you to discern your own goals for the life you'd like to live, the career you'd like to achieve, the relationships you'd like to enjoy, and the person you'd like to be. Together we plan a path towards those goals and I will provide motivation, information, and accountability.

If you have specific questions about my approach, or want to share about your individual situation, please feel free to call me and we can talk it through.

Life is your chance at a triumphant journey.  Seize the day!
