For Parents of a Newly Diagnosed Child

Maybe you’ve worried for a while that your child’s behavior or thought patterns have seemed very “different.” Maybe it came as a total surprise as your child approached some new milestone in school and was identified as having “issues” in need of attention. Either way, when your child is first diagnosed with a Mental Illness, Depression, Anxiety, anger management difficulties, ADHD, or a Learning Disorder, it can be a challenging time as a parent.

I offer a 3-6 week program designed to help you understand this new diagnosis and chart a path forward.  I can help as an adviser as you work with your child's school.  I will familiarize you with community resources and parenting strategies to help you navigate this new path. These sessions will be tailored to your individual situation and include parenting strategy training, couples counseling, and/or communication therapy as needed.
